Arrivederci, Lexitalia
Jablet and I were crushed tonight when we found that our favorite Lexington area Italian restaurant has apparently gone out of business. Lexitalia had very good food and it was quite affordable. The location, however, was terrible and is almost certainly why they ended up closing. Lexitalia owners, if you read this, please reopen elsewhere. Downtown would work great for you and you could easily charge twice the price for your food.

I have been living in LA for 8 years but am originally from Lexington. Lexitalia is (was) my favorite Italian restaurant. My mother told me that the original owner was back in town and managing it. The last time Mom was there for dinner, he told her that he was looking for another location. The Alexandria area has drastically declined over the past 10 years.
So perhaps there is still hope that Lexitalia will return! If I hear anything I will let you know Mr. Jabley.
I’m already missing the fried banana peppers, the lasagna, and the linquine w/ red clam sauce.
Lexitalia is the standard by which I judge all other Italian resaurants.
Thanks for the posting!

We lived in Lexington about 15 years ago and loved Lexitalia, It was heartbraking to see the ‘for lease’ sign on the Lexitalia sign when we were there in October. Does anyone have the recipe for their dish Chicken Armando that had that fabulous napoleon potatoe?
